What is Udhiya or Qurbani?

Udhiya/Qurbani is a sacrifice for the pleasure of God.
During Eid al Adha, Muslims sacrifice an animal and give to those in need, sharing in the joy of the holiday.
This practice is symbolic and commemorates the prophet Abraham’s sacrifice of a ram in place of his son

The Qur’an says,
“It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him.” (22:37)

Where do the animals come from?

The animals are sourced in New Jersey, contributing to the local economy and helping local families.

When does Udhiya / Qurbani take place?

Udhiya /Qurbani takes place at the end of Hajj season, during Eid al Adha.

Why am I being charged a processing fee?

Our cost is the cost of the animal + the credit card processing fees. 

Who is receiving the meat?

SMILE clients in need receive the meat. Our clients include single mothers, victims of domestic violence, refugees, and families going through hardship.
